These awards recognise and celebrate Te Reo Māori excellence across a diverse range of disciplines.
We are seeking nominations for individuals, groups and projects that have excelled across all public, corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

TO MAKE NOMINATIONS FOR THE AWARDS, YOU MUST:
Complete and submit an online nomination to Ngā Tohu Reo Māori - Te Tai Tokerau;
Include your name and contact details; the name and contact details of the nominee, if different from yourself (self-nominations are accepted);
Include the reasons for the nomination clearly documenting why the candidate should be considered for this award and explain how the individual meets the criteria for the categories they are nominated for;
Include iwi affiliations of the nominee
Provide high resolution photographs and/or video links of your kaupapa
DEADLINES, TIME FRAMES AND NOMINATIONS
1. Nominations close 31st of October 11.59pm.
2. The qualifying period for all categories is 1 January 2020 to 31st of October 2021.
Please list the achievements that have occurred in this period only.
3. The official online nomination form must be used.
4. The nominator must agree that all information is correct.
5. Individual, group or project must have completed their kaupapa within the

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions relate to the nomination, participation and selection of the nominees and winners of “Ngā Tohu Reo Māori – Te Tai Tokerau 2021” (“Awards”). Information on the Awards, how to nominate nominees’ forms part of these terms and conditions. Awards are open to public nominations and all projects done by individuals or groups need to have been completed between 1st Jan 2020 and 31st October 2021 within Te Mātāwai - Te Tai Tokerau Kāhui ā-Iwi boundaries.
By participating in the Awards and by nominating an individual, group or becoming a nominee, you agree to all Terms and Conditions.
You also agree to be a part of all marketing and publicity including the livestreaming of the Tohu Reo Māori Awards – Te Tai Tokerau event on 27th November 2021.
The Awards nomination period commences on 3rd September 2021 and closes at 11:59pm on 31st October 2021 (“Nomination Period”). Entries received outside of the Nomination Period will not be accepted.
Any resident or citizen of New Zealand can nominate and be nominated in the Awards during the Nomination Period. All projects, individuals and group work must have been completed between 1st January 2020 and 31st October 2021. If a nominator or nominee is under 18, Ngā Tohu Reo Māori – Te Tai Tokerau may require that nominators or nominees’ parent or guardian to agree to these terms, give consent to the entrant for participating in the Awards and to claim an award or prize (if any) if such entrant is one of the winners.
You can nominate as many projects, individuals or groups across as many categories that align with the kaupapa you are nominating. All nominees must have completed the project between 1st Jan 2020 and 31st October 2021 within Te Tai Tokerau Kāhui ā-Iwi boundaries.
Only complete nominations with accurate information will be eligible for the selection process. Incomplete, ineligible or fraudulent nominations, and nominations with inaccurate information will be dismissed.
All nominations received will be assessed by the Organizing Committee for eligibility prior to being submitted to an independent judging panel.
The independent judging panel will assess all nominations and elect nominees as finalists. All finalists will be contacted to confirm their attendance at the Awards ceremony on the 27th November 2021. Two complimentary tickets will be arranged for each finalist. Winners will be announced during the Awards ceremony.
All nominations and associated content submitted with the nominations become the property of Ngā Tohu Reo Māori – Te Tai Tokerau to use for marketing purposes.
Ngā Tohu Reo Māori – Te Tai Tokerau and independent judging panel decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
